Ginger (China) Essential Oil
Scientfic Name: Zingiber officinale
Country of Origin/Extraction Method: China/Essential oil by steam distillation from the unpeeled, dried, ground root.
Properties for use in Aromatherapy: Ginger produces a perfume that is rich and spicy used for many complaints for thousands of years, especially in the East. Often used for rheumatism, bacterial dysentery, toothache, malaria, and for digestive complaints including diarrhea, colic cramps, flatulence, indigestion, nausea and travel sickness.
Blends well with: lavender, lemon, orange and petitgrain.
Safety: non-toxic, non-irriant (except in high concentrations), slightly phototoxix; may cause sensitization in some individuals.
