Ear Cone Information

Ear coning is a relaxing and soothing experience.  Ear cone usage can be traced back to the Ancient Egyptians, Native Americans and many other cultures. It is currently in use in Germany as part of wellness care.  EAR CONING IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL CARE.

Hand spun all natural ear cones from Flinthills Aromatherapy are made with 100% unbleached cotton muslin dipped in 100% Kansas beeswax and spun for the left or right ear and treated with 100% pure essential oils and essential oil blends to enhance the coning experience.

In theory when the small end of the cone is seated in the ear forming a tight seal and the large end is lit the flame at the large end of the cone creates a gentle vacuum that softens and draws wax and debris from the ear depositing it in the cone. MOST OF THE WAX AND DEBRIS FOUND INSIDE OF THE CONE IS BEESWAX AND MUSLIN RESIDUAL FROM THE CONING PROCESS.

WHO SHOULD USE EAR CONES? Ear coning has been helpful for individuals with sinus and nasal congestion. Others have found it helpful for sore throat, earache, swimmers ear, chronic headaches, allergies, and following land and /or air travel where there has been changes in pressure and elevation. People who wear hearing aids have also found coning to be helpful as it allows the hearing aid to fit more comfortably. Everyone has a different reason for coning, but most agree it is a soothing, relaxing, painless, and non-invasive experience. Remember coning is a home remedy that has been used for years. It is not a cure for disease and professional care should be sought when needed.

DO NOT CONE EARS WITH DISCHARGE, TUBES, OR OTHER PROBLEMS. CONSULT WITH YOUR PERSONAL HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL FOR GUIDANCE WITH THESE PROBLEMS.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU USE EAR CONES? This is an individual choice. When a person firsts starts to have their ears coned, it is typical to cone ears 2-3 times over a few weeks time. Some recommend ever three days for 2-3 times and then monthly or bimonthly. After a few conings each individual will know when they need to cone their ears by how they feel. Excessive use can over-dry the ears. Using a drop or two of olive oil infused with mullein oil in each ear 1-2 days before coning or following a coning will help prevent over-drying of the ear canal and soften the ear wax.

ALWAYS USE COMMON SENSE WHEN EAR CONING.
