Carrot Essential Oil
Scientific Name: Daucus carota
Country of Origin/Extraction Method: native to Europe, Asia and North Africa; naturalized in North America/Essential oil by steam distillation from the dried fruit (seeds)
Properties for Use in Aromatherapy: Antisetic, diuretic, stimulant, tonic and smooth muscle relaxant. Known for its anti-aging and rejuvenating properties, carrot oil is rich in beta-carotene and other vitamins and minerals. It can be used to improve skin complexion as it is an excellent cellular regenerator.
Blends well with: bergamot, juniper, lavender, lemon, lime, melissa, neroli, organce, petitgrain, rosemary, verbena. This oil can be used at up to 10% in a base solution.
Safety: Probably best avoided in pregnancy.
