Extracted by steam distillation from the pimento leaf. Often used for flatulent indigestion and externally for neuralgic or rheumatic pain. Assists with relief from arthritis, fatigue, muscle cramps and muscle stiffness including those associated with indigestion.
Anise Oil (Egypt) Essential Oil
Scientific Name: Pimpinella Anisum

Properties for Use in Aromatherapy: Used as an antiseptic, antispasmodic, diuretic, expectorant. Often used by the pharmaceutical industry in cough mixtures and lozenges and to mask undesirable flavors in drugs.
Blends well with: Bay, cardamom, caraway, cedarwood, coriander, dill, fennel, mandarin, petitgrain, rosewood.
Safety: Anethole is known to casue dermatitis – avoid in allergic and inflammatory skin conditions. In large doses it is narcotic and slows down the circulation; can lead to cerebral disorders. Anise is not recommended for use in pregnancy.

It has a sweet, camphoraceous top note and a warm spicy-herbaceous undertone.

Lemon Essential Oil

Lemon myrtle essential oil has also been shown to possess antimicrobial properties; however the undiluted essential oil is toxic to human cells in vitro. When diluted to approximately 1%, absorption through the skin and subsequent damage is thought to be minimal.
